You look like a fish!

So the other night the weather was so nice, so we decided to go on a family bike ride. As we were riding Chase says from behind me, "Mom, you look like a fish".
Me: "I look like a fish??"
Chase: "yeah, because of your pants"
I looked down and the bottoms of my pants were flared out from the wind and somehow to him they looked like fish fins.
Where do they come up with these things! :-)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY KYLEE!!

So this post is a couple of weeks late, but I am just now getting time to sit and write. My baby girl turned Seven and I can't believe that she's not a baby anymore!
Kylee I want you to know how much I love you and how much you changed my life when you were born. We were so happy to see you and we couldn't believe how cute you were! You have never done things the easy way, that's for sure, but once you figure it out you are on your way! Your concern for others always amazes me, you are always so willing to help. I love that you like things clean and organized even if your idea of organized is different than mine and Dad's. I'm always in awe at how beautiful you are...you have already given your Dad a few gray hairs. I love that you love him and are so much like him. I love when you smile, when you laugh, and the look you get when you get embarrassed. You are so special and we have enjoyed watching you grow into a wonderful little girl!

We hope you had a great day and you felt like a Queen!! We love you!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHASE!!

Six years ago today I was so overwhelmed at the reality of having 2 babies to take care of. It's hard to believe that it has already been six years, but I remember that day like it was yesterday. I was so excited to see you, but so nervous that I wouldn't be able to do it. You came so fast and I was so happy. I couldn't believe what a good baby you were. We tried a couple of times to make you come when Mom was ready but you wouldn't have any of that, you would only come when you were ready. That's the way you are, you always do things in your own time and are never in a hurry, even when it drives me crazy! You have been such a blessing in my life and I am so thankful everyday that I have you. You say the funniest things and always make me laugh! You are so sweet and loving and I love that playing with my hair is a comfort to you. I love that you still like to sit on my lap and will sometimes fall asleep when you do. You are so smart and are always listening and learning. I hope you always stay like that and always know how special you are!
We hope that you had a great day and you felt like a king! Happy Birthday Buddy, we love you!!

A quick update!

I haven't been on for a while. My life is a little more crazy these days. We had a great time over the holidays. The kids loved Christmas and it was great to see them have so much fun and start to understand the real meaning as well. We had a good break from school, but they were ready to go back. They are at the stage that they love school and were ready to go and see their friends, I hope they stay that way forever!
I started 2 part time/temporary jobs at the beginning of the year and that has kept me a little busier than I am used to. I am use to having my mornings to myself and using that time to get a lot done without the kids. I am having to adjust things a little and it's working out ok so far. I am the type of person that prefers to do my grocery shopping in the morning first thing after I drop the kids off because the stores are not crowded and they usually tend to have re-stocked their shelves overnight. I haven't been able to do that the last couple of weeks and I'm not sure how I feel about that.
We are all happy and healthy, Josh still has a job, life is great!!

FALALALALA...!

For family night we went to the Christmas Carol Sing-a-long at the Energy Solutions Arena. I had heard about this on the radio and it's a completely free event. It's free to get in, free parking, they give you free hot dogs and soda, then we got free tickets for other things. So, we decided to try it out and see what it was like. We had such a great time (when i say "we" I mean Josh, Kylee, and I; Chase was a little bored). They had an orchestra and the whole arena sang Christmas carols for an hour. We had a great time and I think we will try it again next year. We also met Emily and Scott and her sister Michelle there so it made it even more fun to have friends there.

Thankful Turkeys

I got this idea from my cousin Ashley, thanks Ash!! For Family night we talked about Gratitude and what the Thanksgiving Holiday is all about. Then we made these turkeys and everyday until Thanksgiving we will think about something we are grateful for and write it on a feather and stick it on the Turkey! We have so many things to be grateful for and it's nice for the kids to be able to think about those things, although it's pretty funny to hear some of the things they come up with!
