What's it like being married to MacGyver??

That is the question that was posed to be by my brother-in-law Chase Labor day weekend.

We all know who Macgyver is right? The awesome secret agent on tv in the 80's who could make use of any mundane materials around him. Well.....

We went camping to moon lake labor day weekend. We heard there was a good hike that goes around the lake and we decided that we wanted to give it a go, only problem was we had baby Taylor with us and no way to transport her other than to carry her. I told my sister that we could just take turns and it shouldn't be a problem. The hike wasn't suppose to be that difficult so i didn't think it would be too big of a deal since we really wanted to go.

Well one of our camp chairs broke the night before and so my wonderfully creative husband decides that he thinks he can fashion a baby carrier out of the broken camp chair.
"Ok", we say, that would be great if it could work. So he goes to work and here is what he came up with:
It worked GREAT!! They were able to carry her the entire hike and she even slept almost the whole time! We were all so impressed at Josh's (a.k.a. Macgyver) skills. I have one talented husband!

What are you thankful for??

We have so many things to be grateful for and I really wanted my kids to appreciate all of the great things in their life so this month we have been using the "THANKFUL JAR".
Each day we pull out a piece of paper and it says something on it like "I am thankful for my family; play a game together". It has been a lot of fun and sometimes a lot of work for mom depending on what we pull out, but it has been a fun experience and the kids get excited to see what is next! It has been so fun that I think we may have to make it a tradition every year!
We are so thankful for all of you our family and friends and the great influences you have on our family! We hope you all have a great Holiday Season and can recognize the many blessings in your lives.

An oldie, but a goodie!!

(before Angela & Ethan were born)

My Love

10 Years!! I can't believe it!! Ok, well we have only been married for 9 as of yesterday, but we have been together for 10!! We started dating a year before we were married so that means we have spent the last 10 years together. WOW! 10 years is a long time and it has gone by so fast. When I think about how far we have come and all the changes that have happened in our life I can't help but feel grateful for the many blessings we have experienced.

I am grateful everyday that Josh came into my life. He is such a great man and he works so hard to take care of us and makes it possible for me to be home to take care of the kids. We have many differences and we are definitely not the same people that met and fell in love 10 years ago, but that's good right?? We have grown and learned together and we still have a long way to go and I hope he is at my side the rest of the way!

You look like a fish!

So the other night the weather was so nice, so we decided to go on a family bike ride. As we were riding Chase says from behind me, "Mom, you look like a fish".
Me: "I look like a fish??"
Chase: "yeah, because of your pants"
I looked down and the bottoms of my pants were flared out from the wind and somehow to him they looked like fish fins.
Where do they come up with these things! :-)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY KYLEE!!

So this post is a couple of weeks late, but I am just now getting time to sit and write. My baby girl turned Seven and I can't believe that she's not a baby anymore!
Kylee I want you to know how much I love you and how much you changed my life when you were born. We were so happy to see you and we couldn't believe how cute you were! You have never done things the easy way, that's for sure, but once you figure it out you are on your way! Your concern for others always amazes me, you are always so willing to help. I love that you like things clean and organized even if your idea of organized is different than mine and Dad's. I'm always in awe at how beautiful you are...you have already given your Dad a few gray hairs. I love that you love him and are so much like him. I love when you smile, when you laugh, and the look you get when you get embarrassed. You are so special and we have enjoyed watching you grow into a wonderful little girl!

We hope you had a great day and you felt like a Queen!! We love you!!
